For a small fee, We can provide verbal valuations or professional and official written appraisals of any antique rugs, carpets and textiles for private individuals or institutions for collection, heritage, law, insurance or investment purposes.
We have appraised over 700 carpets in 2011, most of which were in a single collection, for insurance purposes. Our accuracy in determining the market and insurance value of an antique rug or textile is in line with our comprehensive knowledge of auction results, retail and wholesale prices and current trends in collectible and decorative antique carpets around the world.
Our restoration expertise enables us to accurately determine the cost of any damage to an antique weaving by wear, transit, water, fire, stains, moth, pets or other ways and of potential restoration as well as the replacement values of the item.
An accurate and professional appraisal is vital to determine the real value of your property which will be essential for insurance purposes to cover your investments and for insurance companies to prevent fraud and to avoid paying out usually unnecessary high sums in damage claims.
We charge a reasonable and competitive fee for this service and in most cases we are able to provide the valuation based on some high resolution digital images of the rug or rugs in question.
If needed, we can travel anywhere in the world to examine and value an entire collection or to deal with a complex case with multiple damaged carpets to be appraised for insurance claims or lawsuits.
