Checkered Mid-Century Tulu Rug in Earthy Colors

A one of kind Mid-Century "Tulu" (thick pile) rug from Central Turkey with a colorful geometric and somewhat primitive design and soft wool pile. These rare small rugs were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia, circa 1970s. Today they are considered collectible as well as being highly decorative as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
