Mid-Century Modern Tulu Rug

A vintage hand-knotted TULU (Turkish word for thick piled) rug from Konya in Central Anatolia, Turkey. These charming small rugs with simple and somewhat contemporary designs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until 1970s. Today these beautiful rugs work well with modern decor and they are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
