Mid-Century Modern Tulu Rug

A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long piled") rug from Konya in Central Anatolia, Turkey. These charming small rugs with simple modern designs and long lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia, until third quarter 20th century. Today these decorative rugs for contemporary decor are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
