Hand-Knotted Vintage Tulu Rug with Archway design
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for shag piled) rug from Turkey. It is made of finest local hand-spun sheep wool. These charming and somewhat Primitive small rugs with long lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads in Central Anatolia until late 1960s. Today these decorative rugs are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
