A hand-knotted Turkish rug woven in the early 2000s, inspired by classical Anatolian village carpets. The design draws from traditional geometric medallion compositions, reinterpreted with clarity and balance for contemporary interiors.
The composition centers on a bold octagonal medallion rendered in terracotta and soft turquoise blue, set within a spacious ivory field. Angular corner spandrels echo the central geometry, while a striking interlocking border motif frames the composition with rhythm and architectural definition. The palette combines warm rust and coral tones with cool mineral blues and soft cream, all achieved using natural dyes.
Hand-knotted entirely in wool, including the foundation, the rug has a substantial yet supple handle and a medium pile. The use of natural dyes gives the colors depth and a softly variegated character.
Although recently woven, the design faithfully references antique Anatolian precedents, making it well suited for transitional interiors that blend traditional character with contemporary restraint.
Condition is excellent. Professionally cleaned and ready for installation.
