This charming and cheerful looking colorful vintage rug from central Turkey is a one-of-a-kind, hand knotted Tulu rug made of soft, lustrous, hand-spun lambs' wool. It features colorful linked nested lozenges in varying sizes against a rich, saturated red field. It is in very good condition.

Rugs of this sort with beautiful geometric designs and lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in the Konya region of Central Anatolia until the 1970s. Today they are considered to be collectible pieces of textile and tribal art as well highly decorative floor coverings.
