Chequered Mid-Century Modern Tulu Runner
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long piled") rug from Konya in Central Anatolia, Turkey. The rug is made of lamb’s wool. These simple and somewhat primitive small rugs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until 1960s. Today these decorative rugs with minimalist designs are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
