Dazzling Mid-Century Modern "Tulu" Rug

A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long/shag piled") rug from Central Turkey, traditionally woven in two panels in wool. These charming small rugs with simple, somewhat contemporary designs and lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until late 1970s. Today these decorative rugs are ideal for contemporary decor and they are also considered collectible as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
