Oversize Cotton Kilim. Vintage Hand-Woven Rag Rug, Colorful Chaput Carpet

These authentic vintage Turkish kilim rugs were traditionally handwoven by nomadic and village communities in Central Turkey. Originally created as practical floor coverings for tents and winter homes, these flatwoven rugs were made for everyday use rather than for commercial export. Their simple geometric designs, natural wool textures, and timeless character make them highly desirable in today’s interior design world.
For more than 25 years, we have travelled throughout Turkey to carefully select sturdy, visually appealing, and well-preserved examples of handmade Anatolian textiles. Our collection includes vintage kilims, hand-knotted pile rugs, tribal weavings, and other authentic works of Turkish folk art that are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in good condition.
In our workshop, selected vintage flatweave kilims can also be carefully hand-stitched together to create larger room-size rugs and custom-size floor coverings. This process preserves the original character of the individual kilims while transforming them into practical, decorative rugs suitable for both residential and commercial interiors.
These handmade Turkish kilim rugs complement a wide range of décor styles, including modern, minimalist, bohemian, rustic, farmhouse, Mediterranean, eclectic, and contemporary interiors. Their durable flatweave construction makes them suitable for living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, entryways, offices, hotels, restaurants, and other interior spaces.
