This vintage handmade rug is called "Filikli" in Turkish, the word for a "flokati" style shag pile (Tulu) handmade rug made for everyday use by the nomads in Central Anatolia.

This particular one is made of tufts of local Angora type goats` wool hand knotted on a woolen Kilim.

These Kilim rugs are very popular in the design world for their Minimalist look, comfort and practicality of usage as floor coverings, wall hangings, sofa throws and seat covers.

They are considered to be objects of collectible folk and textile art as well as being functional and comfortable decorative rugs.
