This vintage hand-knotted rug features a curvilinear medallion in gold and dark indigo at the centre of a plain deep red field surrounded by arabesque corner pieces in ivory. The main border has a dark indigo background and features palmettes and angular leaves. The inner and outer guard strips are decorated with dainty floral heads and small leaves.

This rug has low wool pile on cotton foundation. It is in good condition, sturdy and can handle high foot traffic. It is deep-washed and clean.
