Vintage Hand-Knotted Wool Turkish Area Rug with Geometric Design in Muted Colors

This vintage area rug was hand-knotted in Turkey in the 1950s. It features a geometric medallion at the centre of two nested lozenge-shaped areas within a field in faded red and faded black colors featuring tassel-like motifs on their borders. The corner pieces in very light celadon green have tri-layered serrated edges and the main border is decorated with abstract botanical motifs in faded red, blue, ivory, pink and black.

This area rug is hand knotted with natural sheep's wool, has soft medium pile, in good condition and sturdy. Its soft and muted color palette and geometric design with lovely detail would make it a great complementary piece for farmhouse, country, and contemporary interiors.
