Vintage Hand Knotted Red and Blue Turkish Area Rug with Soft Wool Pile

This room-size hand knotted vintage Turkish rug has at its center a prominent lozenge-shaped medallion in ivory that features scalloped edges and is decorated with free floating floral motifs around a smaller medallion in cerulean blue. The medallion stands against an unadorned field separated into two unadorned areas in the shape of a lozenge in rosewood red and cerulean blue. The corner pieces, the guard strips and the main border are decorated with elegant and delicate floral motifs. The overall design is very clear and crisp-edged.

This vintage rug was hand knotted in Central Anatolia, has soft organic sheep's wool pile, features a coarse and robust weave.
